No, selling sex toys is not allowed in Zimbabwe. The importation of sex toys is prohibited under Section 47(1)(b) of the Customs and Excise Act, which prohibits the importation of any goods which are indecent, obscene or objectionable. The law also bans the shipment of any goods which might deprave the morals of the inhabitants of Zimbabwe.

In 2014, a GWANDA State University female lecturer was jailed for six months after she illegally imported sex toys from Germany. She had ordered the toys online and had them delivered to her home. When the package arrived, it was intercepted by the police and she was arrested.

In 2019, a Zimbabwean feminist group, Women’s Academy for Leadership and Political Excellence (WALPE), challenged the ban on the importation of sex toys in a court of law. However, the court ruled in favor of the government, upholding the ban on the importation of sex toys.

Despite the legal prohibition, there is a growing demand for sex toys in Zimbabwe. Some people are buying sex toys online from overseas retailers, while others are buying them from informal traders. However, it is important to note that the sale of sex toys is illegal in Zimbabwe, and anyone caught selling them could face prosecution.
