ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa says the governing party will secure a clear victory at the May 29 polls.
He says recent history has shown that when there is no clear majority, coalitions are completely unworkable.
Ramaphosa was grilled by the academic fraternity during a dialogue at the Wits School of Governance.
He said the governing party has admitted to its mistakes and his campaign trail has shown that the people want the ANC to remain in power.
He added that tackling corruption in all sectors remains a priority.
