The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has commented on the recently surfaced video, which allegedly shows Combs attacking Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City. The video, obtained by CNN, captures Combs chasing Ventura down a hallway clad in a towel before striking her, throwing her to the ground, and then kicking and dragging her.

This incident was detailed in a lawsuit filed by Ventura against Combs in November 2023, which was swiftly settled the following day. According to the lawsuit, Combs became highly intoxicated, struck Ventura in the face, causing a black eye, and then hurled glass vases at her as she fled to an elevator.

DA’s Office Statement On Why They Cant Prosecute

The LA County DA’s Office released a statement on Instagram, labelling the video as “extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.” However, they also stated that they cannot prosecute Combs for the 2016 incident because the statute of limitations for assault in California is two years, and the case falls outside this period.

Additionally, the DA’s Office mentioned that as of the release date, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the video against Combs.

Legal and Public Reactions

Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura’s lawyer, responded to the video, saying that it confirmed Combs’ “disturbing predatory behaviour” and commended Ventura’s bravery in coming forward. FOX 11 has attempted to reach out to Combs’ legal team but has not yet received a response.

Additional Investigations

In March, Homeland Security agents conducted searches at Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a s_ex trafficking investigation. However, federal investigators have not identified Combs as a target of this investigation.
