The Umkhonto Wesizwe Party (MK Party) said that it cannot fix the country if it does not obtain a majority of the votes at the polls.
A two-thirds majority in Parliament is the required threshold to amend any acts in the Constitution.
Saturday, the party launched its election manifesto in Soweto where it called for an overhaul of the country’s guiding book.
In his almost two-hour-long speech on Saturday MK Party leader Jacob Zuma outlined a number of interventions the party would enact if elected into power.
These include giving governance powers to traditional leaders, outlawing teenage pregnancy, and dividing the country into four provinces.
Zuma says the MK needs an outright win to achieve this.
