Government also investigating wall collapse at Ballito construction site


Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Sihle Zikalala said that his department will better enforce regulations following a building collapse in Ballito on Saturday.

The department launched an investigation into the collapse which left four people dead.

Zikalala said that it is important for stakeholders in the building industry to ensure that they do not cut corners when it comes to the safety of workers.

“We will be ensuring that professionals who work in the industry follow the standards that are set. Regulations must be followed.”
