Evil Empire and Ubisoft have announced the new The Rogue Prince of Persia release date, and the roguelite platformer is landing at the end of this month. Last week, the two studios delayed the upcoming game in order to avoid clashing with Supergiant’s Hades 2, which was launched without warning last Monday.
Now, though, Evil Empire says The Rogue Prince of Persia will launch on May 27th, which the developer says should give people time to play Hades 2 “and the other great games that came out last week” (which include Animal Well, Little Kitty, Big City, and Crow Country).Evil Empire also says it’ll “keep adding polish” to The Rogue Prince of Persia in the interim, too. Rather amusingly, the dev says it’s “burning the whole thing down” if the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong shadow-drops before the new release date. I think that’s unlikely, guys.
As well as the new release date, Evil Empire has also announced The Rogue Prince of Persia’s pricing, and it’s not quite as expensive as some have apparently been making it out to be.
According to Evil Empire, some have speculated the price of the game could be anywhere from $30 to $60. The latter seems like a pretty ridiculous guess to me, and apparently to Evil Empire as well, because The Rogue Prince of Persia will be priced at $19.99, with a launch discount to boot. To tide you over until the game’s release, a new gameplay trailer has also been released, and it features the game’s theme song, too
