Police Release Names of Victims of Mabvuku Accident as Death Toll Rises To Six

The Zimbabwe Republic Police have released the names of the victims who perished in the tragic Mabvuku road accident.

The tragic accident happened on Tuesday evening around 5 PM along Donnybrook Road, Chizhanje area, Mabvuku, Harare. A truck was involved in an accident with two commuter omnibuses.

Police Provide Details on Deadly Mabvuku Accident

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police  shared more details on the accident. The police revealed that twelve people were injured and that the death toll has risen to six.

According to the police report, a Howo truck carrying one passenger veered into the oncoming lane. The truck went on to sideswipe a Toyota Hiace Kombi with 13 passengers before colliding head-on with another Toyota Hiace Kombi carrying 5 passengers.

Mabvuku Accident Victims’ Identities Revealed

The police also released the names of the victims who perished in the horror accident.

• Felix Javha, a male adult of Hatfield, Harare.
• Edinah Ndogwedu, a female adult of Riverside, Ruwa.
• Tarisai Chigwande, a female adult of Odzi, Zimre Park, Harare.
• Liberty Chitide, a male adult of Tafara, Harare.

The other two victims are yet to be identified by their next of kin.

Separate Accident on Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the police revealed that three people died whilst ten others were injured in a road accident.

The accident happened at the 226-kilometer peg along Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road on 21st May 2024 at around 2200 hours.

According to the police report, an ERF truck carrying three passengers encroached into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a Stallion Cruise Bus carrying 40 passengers.
