Zimbos online are mocking self-appointed CCC secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu for attending a female MPs’ dinner organised by Auxillia Mnangagwa.
ZANU-PF and CCC Legislators Party At The State House
The First Lady hosted the event at the State House in Harare on Friday, 31 May. Populating the event the most were female Members of Parliament from both the ruling ZANU-PF and the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
This was one rare occasion where ZANU-PF and CCC politicians merrily wined and dined together at the President’s residence.
Later during the dinner, First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa broke into dance with the female legislators, who walked to the front, closer to the high table, to groove with her. They all danced happily, setting aside their political and ideological differences for a good time.
Sengezo Tshabangu Meets First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa
Conspicuous at the event was the self-appointed CCC secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu.
The politicians, little know until October 2023, has been on a roll. He recalled elected CCC MPs and replaced them with his loyalists, ceding some seats to ZANU-PF in the process.
As the new opposition kingmaker, he has taken a conciliatory stance when dealing with the ruling party. Tshabangu even attends State events like the Independence celebrations in Murambinda latst April.
Last week, Speaker Jacob Mudenda announced him the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, a role Nelson Chamisa turned down in 2019.

On Friday, Tshabangu iced his week by attending the women’s dinner at the State House. He also took the opportunity to greet the First Lady.
