A Durban man who allegedly stabbed a woman to death for “supporting Palestine” has been sent for psychosocial evaluation.
The forty-four-year-old, Grayson Beare, appeared at the Durban Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
It’s alleged on Sunday, Beare attacked a family of four, fatally stabbing the mother while leaving the father and adult son with serious stab wounds.
A minor girl child was left unhurt from the incident.
KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson Kara said the man was charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
“The matter was remanded to 11 June 2024, for bail investigation and for the accused to undergo mental assessment. The State is opposed to bail.”
