Controversial self-styled Prophet Madungwe has come under fire on social media after announcing that he finally cleared his rental arrears by begging for donations.

This comes after, Prophet Madungwe made headlines last week after it emerged that he was owing his landlord rent for four months.

He took to social media to publicly beg for donations so that he could clear his debt, as his landlord was reportedly on the verge of evicting him.

Prophet Madungwe Clears Rental Arrears, But Faces Criticism

Taking to his X account today, Prophet Madungwe announced that he has finally settled his rental arrears.

He expressed gratitude to those who came through for him and assisted with rental money after he appealed for donations.

“The balance has been fully paid today, thanks to those who came through and helped, may God bless you,” he wrote.

Netizens Slam Prophet Madungwe for Relying on Donations to Pay Rent

His post, however, triggered a wave of criticism and backlash on social media. Users slammed him, urging him to find a job and start working for himself instead of asking for donations.

Netizens argued that he cannot live on handouts and advised him to use the Toyota Aqua he received from Wicknell Chivayo as a taxi or put it on Indrive to generate income.

They emphasized that he should reevaluate his life, seek employment, and stop fabricating stories about his so-called encounters in heaven.
