Gospel star and popular pastor Thinah Zungu is shocked and confused after he and his family were robbed at gunpoint by unknown thugs.
Thinah, who is also known as “Ubhuti westezi” because he normally brags about his double-storey house, was robbed at his famous double-storey home in Inanda north of Durban on Monday night, 3 June.
The 35-year-old musician said he was sitting with his family inside his house when about five suspects forced entry and robbed them at gunpoint.
Thinah, who is a pastor at Ark Fellowship Church in Inanda, said he’s still shocked after he was robbed in front of his wife and kids.
“The thugs pointed guns at us and forced us to the one room where they locked us and started to steal what they wanted to steal.
“They stole my clothes, gadgets, TV, watches and many more and loaded it in my BMW car, and they ran away,” he said.
He said his car was later recovered while other stolen belongings are still missing.
KZN police spokeswoman Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed that there was a house robbery at Thinah’s home.
“Police in Inanda are investigating a case of house robbery following an incident in which unknown men allegedly entered the house of a 35-year-old man on 3 June 2024 and pointed him with a firearm before ransacking his house,” she said.
