Well-known 27-year-old South African TV producer, Blessing Gama has been laid in his final resting place.

Affectionately known as ‘King Bless’, he was described as a hard worker who lived a fabulous life and was a lover of the soft life. These were the words said by different speakers during the life celebration and funeral service of King Bless at Fourways Memorial Park, on Saturday, 8 June.

Speaking on behalf of friends, Mzansi actress and TV personality Ntando Duma said: “Today we gather here to celebrate your extraordinary life that you have purposefully lived to the fullest. A life well lived. You were more than just a friend to me. You were a shining star in our lives, a beacon of hope and an inspiration.”

Ntando said they would miss his kindness, compassion, and his legacy would continue to live on through them.

“Our friend loved money so much, he loved the soft life. He loved his job and his family so much,” said Ntando.

Sharing a couple of stories that made her laugh, she said: “Blessing was against every single person that I dated. He hated everyone and would say to me ‘awukho serious’. That was so funny and heartwarming because I know that every word that he would say to me comes from a good place.

“There was a time where everyone was going to Kwa Mai-Mai. We went there and 2 minutes in, he said we didn’t love ourselves. We stood up and immediately went home because Blessing knew what he loved, what he wanted, and that place was just not him,” she said.

Speaking about her late brother, Audrey Sihle said that it’s only a week after his passing, but they already miss him.

“We started missing him the moment that we saw he is gone. We’re going to miss the times that we spent in the kitchen talking about everything and everyone. We’ll miss him waking us up at 3 am and teaching us how to dance,” she said.

She said that they had a special dance and a language, and Blessing wouldn’t mind calling her in the early hours of the morning coming from the club just to ask her about a song he wanted to learn.

King Bless’s uncle, Kenny Langa, said that he last saw Blessing when he was still little.

“I don’t know my nephew. I last saw him when he was still very young. I only get to see him today as I send him to his last resting place,” he said.
