President Ramaphosa sends condolences to the people of Malawi after Vice President Chilima’s death


President Cyril Ramaphosa has conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Malawi following the death of their Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima.

Malawi’s second in charge died alongside nine others in a plane crash.

The aircraft was earlier reported missing and its carnage was discovered earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

Ramaphosa described the tragedy as a loss across the country and region.

“President Ramaphosa offers his deep condolences to Vice President Chilima’s family. The President’s thoughts are also with his excellency President Lazarus Chakwere and the cabinet of the Republic of Malawi” said Presidency Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.
