VP Kembo Mohadi Addresses Health Concerns After Second Public Incident

Zimbabwe’s second Vice President, Kembo Mohadi, recently addressed concerns about his health after another public mishap.

First Incident at the University of Zimbabwe

The first incident occurred when Mohadi became disoriented and was unable to finish a lecture at the University of Zimbabwe. During the presentation on “Liberation Movements and African Unity: Why Resilience Matters for Sustained Transformative Possibilities,” the Vice President’s voice grew fainter, and he appeared to be losing energy. He made awkward pauses between sentences, making it difficult for the audience to follow his train of thought. Ultimately, Mohadi faintly whispered, “I can’t, I can’t,” before stepping back and being assisted by his security aides.

Now, Vice President Kembo Mohadi has addressed these health concerns, stating that he is in good health, but that old age is starting to take its toll on him. This statement came during a recent event at Manama High School, his former school in Gwanda South, where he was donating laptops and sports accessories.

VP Kembo Mohadi Reassures Public on Health After Second Incident

During the event, Mohadi experienced a severe cough, which forced him to take a break from his speech and ask for water. The Mirror reports that Mohadi looked pale and tired throughout the event. After recovering from the cough, Mohadi said,

“I am not sick, but I am getting old that’s why I drink water a lot.”

Zanu-PF Speaks on Leaders’ Health

In response to the concerns raised by the public, Zanu PF’s director of information, Farai Marapira, expressed confidence in the party’s leaders’ health, stating,

“We are confident of all our leaders’ health. We are not worried about rumours circulating and we are focused on the economy and our mandate to the people of Zimbabwe. We will not be moved by public opinion. This is being done by those who were elected but are not focused.”
