In an unexpected development, one of Wicknell Chivayo’s infamous leaked audios was played during a set at the just-ended Carpe Diem event at Old Hararians Sports Club.

The Carpe Diem event had the creme de la creme of Zimbabwean and South African wheel spinners entertaining multitudes last Saturday.

The stellar lineup included Oscar Mbo, Ryan Synth, Morda, Tannie Swiss, Spunj, Samuel Cosmic, Chiweddar, Sun El Musician, Prince Kaybee, St Emmo, Shaku Chante, and Halu.

Chivayo Boasts About His Relationship with President Mnangagwa

During his set, DJ Ryan Synth decided to shake things up by playing one of the leaked audio recordings that landed flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo in the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) crosshairs. As a result of the leaked audio, Chivayo is being investigated for money laundering and abuse of office.

In the audio Ryan Synth played during his set, Chivayo boasts about his close relationship with President Mnangagwa. Chivayo claims he has “captured the system” and is now the president’s “blue-eyed boy,” benefitting from lucrative contracts despite the usual competitive tender process.
