The Ladysmith family that lost eight loved ones in a mass shooting last week believes it is too early to determine whether the attack is linked to taxi violence.
The Thusi family lost eight relatives in the incident and the motive for the killings remains unknown.
According to the family, the deceased had just left an event when unknown gunmen targeted and ambushed them.
They have since made a plea for law enforcement officers to find the killers.
One of the deceased, Celani Thusi, who was attacked alongside his wife and children, was in the taxi business.
However, the family is not convinced that the hit was related to taxi violence.
Family spokesperson Thembelihle Thusi said, “My brother was never a violent person, he had no weapons and didn’t even own a gun, so we still don’t know what this incident is linked to. We can’t assume it’s taxi-related.”
The family hopes the police will soon lift the lid off this mysterious mass slaughter.
