Wicknell Chivayo Finally Reveals Whereabouts While Dodging ZACC Interrogation

Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo has revealed his whereabouts and what he has been up to instead of presenting himself to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for questioning as part of a money laundering and abuse of office investigation.

Last week, ZACC summoned Chivayo and his alleged business associates Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu.

Wicknell Chivayo’s Whereabouts Initially Undisclosed

ZACC chairperson Michael Reza disclosed that the trio has yet to present themselves for questioning and warned of unspecified consequences if they continued to evade the commission.

Reports initially suggested that Chimombe and Mpofu were in China, with their lawyers confirming their absence from the country and promising their return for questioning. Chivayo was also believed to be abroad, but his exact whereabouts and activities were unclear.

Wicknell Chivayo Spotted in Zimbabwe Amidst ZACC Investigation

However, Wicknell Chivayo has now revealed his whereabouts and activities. Reacting to a Daily News report on his potential extradition, Chivayo took to Instagram stories to disclose that he has been in Zimbabwe and spent all of Friday at church. He also noted that his name is being used to sell newspapers.

“Madzibaba vaka swear pa masowe nezuro…Iri zita hombe munorida nhai rinotengesa bepa. 🙌🙌🙆‍♂️🤣,” Chivayo shared on his Instagram stories.

ZACC Account Hacked, Whistleblower Speaks Out

Meanwhile, a hacker using the username @MhepoYeNyika, who claims to be a senior ZACC employee and has taken control of the ZACC X (formerly Twitter) account, alleges that the anti-corruption body is reluctant to arrest Chivayo. The hacker posted,

“I can no longer stay silent while our nation is destroyed by corruption at the highest levels. Instead of arresting and charging #Chivayo for his serious crimes, we are pressured to focus on distractions; kuitiswa #zvembudzi, while we have the evidence to nail the true kingpin.”
