Controversial tenderpreneurs Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have appeared at the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) over the scandalous ZEC tender and the Presidential Goats Scheme.

Mike Chimombe, Moses Mpofu and Wicknell Chivayo have hogged the limelight following leaked audios from Wicknell.

ZACC had invited them for questioning with regards to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) tender allegedly worth over US$100 million, which they accused Wicknell of inflating. The commission disclosed it is probing a serious case of money laundering and abuse of office.

Chimombe and Mpofu also allegedly got a US$87 million tender to supply goats to the underprivileged under the Presidential Goats Scheme. The two received a US$40 million advance payment and never delivered the goats, according to an explosive internal ZACC memo.

Mike Chimombe And Moses Mpofu Appear At The ZACC Offices, Leave Without Being Interviewed

Chimombe and Mpofu had been in China and returned last week. Chivayo, part of the scandal, reportedly appeared before ZACC last week.

The two went to ZACC today with their legal team as part of the investigations and will be called later. However, they were not interviewed. Newshawks revealed that their case’s investigating officer, Henry Chapwanya, said he was still busy with another case.

Their lawyer, Advocate Tapson Dzvetero, said:

“We went there, and we waited for the investigating officer, Chapwanya. When he came, he said he was busy with another case at the moment and would call us whenever he gets time.”

In a video, he added:

“We have just presented our clients to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and they indicated that they are going to call us when they need us.”
