Warriors update ahead of first game at 2024 COSAFA Cup


The Warriors squad is expected to hold their first training in South Africa this afternoon.

The national team, composed mainly of locally-based players, left Harare on Tuesday morning ahead of the 2024 COSAFA Cup tournament.

They will begin their campaign on Thursday against Comoros at 3 pm CAT.

An update by ZIFA reads: “After arriving in Port Elizabeth yesterday evening, this morning the Warriors are currently in an Analysis meeting led by Warriors Performance Analyst, James Makoni, and the rest of the technical team.

“A training session is scheduled for 3pm this afternoon.”

The Warriors will face Zambia three days later before wrapping up their Group B games versus Kenya on 2 July.

27 June
Comoros vs Zimbabwe (Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, 3 pm CAT)

30 June
Zambia vs Zimbabwe (Wolfson Stadium, 3 pm CAT)

2 July
Zimbabwe vs Kenya (Wolfson Stadium, 12 pm CAT)
