Millions of Sudanese Children Are Facing Malnutrition

Catherine Rusell, the head of the United Nations Children’s Fund, has revealed that Sudan is one of the worst places in the world for children. Catherine, who is on a trip to the war-torn country, told the BBC that nine million children don’t get enough to eat and almost four million are at risk of acute malnutrition. Russell emphasized urgent action and warned that failure to do so will worsen the situation. She revealed her visit is an attempt to draw the world’s attention to the situation and spur action. Catherine’s call for help comes amidst warnings that the country is headed towards one of the largest famines in recent memory, potentially leading to millions of deaths.
