Former Zimbabwe Warriors and Dynamos star Norman Maroto’s last tweet before his death has left people reeling in agony.

 

The Former Dynamos And Warriors Striker Is No More

Maroto died in the early hours of Friday, 28 June, 2024. Reports revealed he complained of flu symptoms just days after attending a funeral over the weekend. His condition deteriorated and he was admitted to a private hospital in Harare and put on life support. Efforts to rescue him faltered and he died in the early hours of this morning.

The Footballers Union of Zimbabwe, where he was the Communications Manager, and the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) confirmed Maroto’s passing on social media.

After retiring, Maroto was in the process of transitioning and paving a new career path for himself. Last year, he participated in the FIFA Legends training program, aimed at helping retired players switch to new careers.

Norman Maroto’s Last Tweet Breaks People’s Hearts

The former prolific striker was very active and engaging on social media. Most of his content was on football, both local and international.

Two days ago, he shared a picture of himself with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger during the FIFA Legends training program in Zurich, Switzerland.

Maroto captioned the post:

“It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”

People engaged with the tweet, not knowing this would be the last time hearing from the football legend publicly.

Zimbos expressed pain under the tweet.

Washington:
