Australia’s Independent government agency, eSafety, has given the internet industry six months to come up with an enforceable code intended to stop children from accessing inappropriate material online such as pornography, or face having a code imposed on it.
The code should set standards for how app stores, websites, and social media platforms amongst others, check that content is suitable for underage users.
The regulator said measures could include age verification, default parental controls and software that blurs or filters unwanted sexual content.

SABC 2’s long-running soapie Muvhango reportedly aired its last season on 2 July 2024 after 27 years of airing. Reports have it that episode 130 of season 25 was the last episode of the drama series.
