Veteran actress and musician Susan Chenjerai, widely recognized for her portrayal of Mai Rwizi on the iconic TV drama ‘Mhuri yaVaMukadota,’ has died.

Susan Chenjerai gained fame for her portrayal of the beloved character “Mai Rwizi” in the iconic TV drama series Mhuri yaVaMukadota, where she starred alongside Safirio Madzikatire, renowned for his role as Mukadota.
Early in her career, Susan was involved with the Bantu Actors and performed with the Marandellas Bush Babies. She also played a role in Mukadota’s band, the Safe Brothers.
In addition to her acting prowess, Susan made significant contributions to the music industry, collaborating with notable figures such as the Wagon Wheels, Oliver Mtukudzi, and Jordan Chataika. She was not only a performer but also a talented songwriter, credited with composing the popular song “KwaHunyani.”
