A Zimbabwean businessman has been accused of scamming people through his unregistered college in South Africa.
Zimbabwean Businessman In Trouble For Running An Unregistered College In South Africa
The man in question, Farai Zimbango, is the chief executive officer of Fachs Group, which owns Fachs Financial Services, Fachs Insurance Brokers, Fachs Consulting, Fachs Corporate Training, and Fachs International College of Business.
He holds a Risk Management and Insurance degree from Zimbabwe’s National University of Science and Technology and a Master’s in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.
One of his organisations, Fachs International College of Business, has received unpleasant attention. The media is pursuing Zimbango for allegedly “conning” people.

The Probe
Etv’s investigative show Checkpoint received a tipoff and established that Zimbango is running the fledging college in South Africa when it is unregistered. To operate a tertiary institution in South Africa, one must be registered with the country’s Department of Higher Education and Training.
The Checkpoint team stormed the ZImbabwean’s office during a meeting, calling him a “tsotsi.”
One of the investigators then quipped:
“This so-called international college of yours is not registered.”
Farai Zimbango denied this and said Fachs is registered as a private college with the Department of Tertiary Education and Training. Officials within the department told Checkpoint that Fachs International College of Business is not on its list of registered institutions.
The Zimbabwean has gotten off with millions through his unregistered institution.
When we go into foreign countries, let us stick to the right side of the law.
The actions of one or a few persons can unfortunately end up painting a whole community with a negative brush! We all have a responsibility to respect the laws and customs of the countries we visit,… pic.twitter.com/3qorxcQczt

Mixed Sentiments Online
Social media users shared their opinions on the scandal.
Belenz:
“On that note, what quality is being produced by those registered? These are limitations put in place to slow or stop the black child from elevating self. This thing called paperwork is not going to take us anywhere.”
Gandaganda:
“Your brothers and sisters have caused a lot of chaos and harm in SA, unfortunately.”
Snow:
“True that. Most people take advantage of weak states and corrupt officials, but as humans who grew up with morals, why do they leave their morals when they meet corrupt officials?”
Bokang:
“This is one of the many bogus schools run by Zimbabweans.”
