Well-known Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Burna Boy breaks his silence over the Miss South Africa 2024 competition.
Nigerians are highly invested in this year’s competition due to the participation and withdrawal of a contestant who reached the finalist stage – Chidinma Vanessa Adetshina.
Chidinma withdrew from the pageant after been bullied, and also after a fraud case involving her mother was dug out.
Being born by a Nigerian father was what led to Chidinma’s suffering in the hands of South Africans.
The noise was paused after her withdrawal, but social media has been buzzing since Saturday night after the Miss South African Organisers announced Mia Le Roux as the winner.
The news of Mia’s win went viral and she’s been celebrated.
However, South Africans are being crucified by Nigerians for bullying out a black contestant to crown a white lady as their queen.
Granmy-award-winning Nigerian musician, Burna Boy who has always been at loggerheads with South Africans also made his comment about the saga on Twitter.
“So after all that …” he tweeted, adding laughing emojis.
Burna Boy reactions:
And here is what X users had to say:
Truth is.
AKA made you, no one knew you before you collaborated with him.— Master. (@B__master) August 11, 2024
All this slave talk from traders, we’ll keep her far away from you so she doesn’t return in a bodybag like the last South Africa girl you dated… It would be best to keep a low profile when it comes to South Africans. We don’t forgive & the internet never forgets. You’ll regret!

You make a mistake by commenting on this stuff. Or maybe you’ve made the choice to never perform in SA again? They will pull out this tweet to make sure no one buys your tickets. pic.twitter.com/zr7UlWosml

I hate how you guys are disingenuous about the issues that South Africans are raising. You should be calling out your brothers for doing illegal things here, which is damaging the reputation of good meaning Nigerians. Educate your people don’t be a dumb troll pic.twitter.com/ddKgNFvU0W

She didn’t steal anyone’s identity, she is was born here. And has proper documentation to confirm that, she is a South African.
Your Chidimma is a shitty criminal, just like the rest of the dirty Nigerians around the World!

Remember when South Africans didn’t buy your tickets?
This is because of this kind of behaviour you really cannot push your Nigerian people on us, who stole the identity of another South African.
We will continue to not welcome you here in SA.

Ok. Anyway, why does fraud follow you guys everywhere you go? pic.twitter.com/UBV3vdzFWQ
