ActionSA Rejects Ultimatum from Tshwane Coalition Partner

ActionSA has firmly rejected an ultimatum from its coalition partners in Tshwane, asserting that it will not be pressured into making a hasty decision about its future in the coalition.

As one of five parties governing Tshwane since the 2021 local elections, ActionSA has recently sought to reassess its position following new developments with the African National Congress (ANC). Last Thursday, the coalition partners gave ActionSA a deadline until midnight Sunday to confirm its commitment or withdrawal from the pact.

In response, ActionSA stated on Friday that it would not be rushed and would complete its review process on its own timeline. Regional spokesperson Tshepiso Modiba emphasized that ActionSA will not be coerced by the Democratic Alliance (DA) or any other party, asserting the party’s independence.

The ongoing review will influence ActionSA’s stance on the upcoming motion of no confidence against Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink, scheduled for later this month.
