The confirmed Mpox cases in the country have now reached 25, following the recent detection of a new case in the Western Cape over the weekend. The Health Department reported that the latest patient, who has no recent history of international travel or contact with known Mpox cases, is currently isolating at home and is in stable condition.
Since the outbreak began in May, three people have sadly died from the disease. Health Spokesperson Foster Mohale emphasized the importance of contact tracing and urged all identified and suspected contacts to fully cooperate with health officials. This cooperation is crucial for effective screening and diagnosis to curb further transmission of this preventable and treatable disease.
