Matore’s appointment follows the resignation of CFO Yolande van Biljon, who will officially leave her post on November 30. Van Biljon has been praised for her role in improving the SABC’s financial standing, culminating in the broadcaster achieving an unqualified audit opinion for the first time in 14 years.
The SABC board, management and staff thanked van Biljon for her contribution to the organisation.
“The SABC board, management and staff extend their sincere gratitude to Ms van Biljon for her contribution to the organisation. While saddened by her departure, the corporation fully respects her decision and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.”
Zimbabwean-born Tendai Matore, who has been with the SABC since 2017, is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA in Finance from Durham Business School in the UK.
