Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo has cemented his status as Zimbabwe’s most generous figure this year, showering various individuals with cars as well as pumping money into football. Wicknell Chivayo’s unmatched philanthropy has sparked curiosity about the total amount he has donated in 2024 alone.

Here’s How Much Wicknell Chivayo Has Donated in 2024
While popular tabloid H-Metro estimates his contributions at between US$3 million and US$4 million, the true figure might be closer to US$10 million. Just this week, Chivayo made headlines with a US$20,000 cash donation and a US$15,000 truck gifted to former ZBC presenter Simon “Pashoma” Ncube, who had appealed for assistance.
Additionally, Chivayo pledged a US$250,000 bonus for the Warriors after they qualified for the 2025 AFCON finals. Over the weekend, he also promised US$10,000 to fund a young girl’s heart surgery in India.
Chivayo’s generosity extends beyond cash. Nine months ago, The Sunday Mail estimated he had already spent US$5 million on donations, cars, and other gifts, including his personal luxury vehicles purchased in 2023.

Car Gifts for Celebrities and Mapostori
Some notable examples include a brand-new S500 Mercedes-Benz worth US$180,000 for musician Jah Prayzah, followed by a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300 valued at US$140,000 for Suluman Chimbetu. Alick Macheso and several others have also received high-end gifts from the businessman.
Chivayo also demonstrated loyalty to his faith by gifting 50 Toyota Aqua vehicles to members of his Johanne Masowe Apostolic sect.

Massive Donation for Scottland FC
Chivayo’s passion for football is equally remarkable. He recently secured 20 Toyota Aqua vehicles for Scottland FC, which won the ZIFA Northern Region Division One championship. The team, owned by Chivayo’s friend Scott Sakupwanya, also received a promise of US$1 million as a reward for their achievement.
Looking ahead to their debut Premiership season, Chivayo has pledged an additional US$600,000 to support Scottland FC’s campaign.
