Chamisa Expresses Alarm Over Rampant Looting in Zimbabwe
By A Correspondent
Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has voiced grave concern over the escalating levels of looting and corruption in Zimbabwe, describing the situation as “alarming.”
In a statement released on Saturday, Chamisa condemned the widespread theft under the current regime, led by the ruling ZANU-PF party, pointing to a troubling trend of treachery and lawlessness across the nation.
Chamisa’s remarks echoed a strong moral and spiritual call to action, drawing on biblical references to underscore the severity of the situation.
He quoted the Book of Hosea, urging Zimbabweans to heed the charge laid against the nation by the Lord. “THE CHARGE AGAINST ZIMBABWE… Hear the word of the Lord, you (Zimbabweans), because the Lord brings a charge against you who live in the land: There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery; you break all bounds and restraints, with bloodshed upon bloodshed” (Hosea 4:1-2).
Chamisa emphasized the need for Zimbabwe to “repent, be born again, and serve The Lord, God Almighty!” His statement calls for a spiritual and moral awakening, urging the nation to turn away from corruption and misconduct in order to rebuild the country’s integrity.
This declaration comes at a time when the nation is grappling with severe economic and political challenges, many of which Chamisa attributes to the rampant looting and mismanagement by the ruling elite.
Chamisa ended his message with a call for hope and perseverance, stating, “Be of good cheer #Godisinit.” He encouraged the people of Zimbabwe to remain steadfast in their faith and to continue striving for a better, more just future.
As the political climate in Zimbabwe remains tense, this latest statement from Chamisa serves as both a denunciation of the current government’s actions and a plea for national healing and spiritual renewal.
