Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly set to announce a new coach to replace Manqoba Mngqithi.
According to TimesLive, Sundowns will unveil a European coach at a press conference set for this afternoon.
The report says the unnamed gaffer will takeover the reins, but it’s unclear whether Mngqithi will be demoted to assistant coach or removed with his entire technical staff of Steve Komphela, Wendell Robinson, Kennedy Mweene and Romain Folz.
Mngqithi assumed the head coach post ahead of the season following the departure of Rulani Mokwena.
The current coach has been under pressure despite topping the Betway Premiership standings.
This is due to their unsuccessful campaigns in the domestic knockout competition.
Sundowns were knocked out of MTN8 after losing to Stellenbosch in the semifinal before losing to Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout final.
The Pretoria-based giants are also struggling in the CAF Champions League and have not recorded a single win in their two opening matches.
