More CCC MPs Exposed In Mnangagwa Farm Meeting

By Munacho Gwamanda – Twenty of the 32 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) MPs and senators who attended a field day at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Kwekwe on Sunday have been identified.

All attendees were appointed to parliament by Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC’s interim secretary general.

Of the 32 lawmakers present, 20 were not on the original party list for the 2023 elections, including Tshabangu himself.

The CCC holds 115 parliamentary seats—88 in the National Assembly and 27 in the Senate.

ZANU PF-aligned social media platforms released a list of 34 CCC lawmakers allegedly present, including Ellen Shiriyedenga and Truswell Chikomo, both of whom denied attending.

The event, organised by Mnangagwa’s office, bypassed parliamentary protocol, with provincial ministers such as Midlands Minister Owen Ncube spearheading invitations. A letter from Ncube outlined the invitation:

“His Excellency…will be hosting Members of Parliament at his Precabe Farm, Sherwood, Kwekwe…”

Tshabangu gained prominence after the August 2023 elections, when he declared himself interim secretary general, orchestrating recalls of CCC representatives and filling vacancies with loyalists.

His actions led to ZANU PF dominating subsequent by-elections.

Most lawmakers attending the farm event were Tshabangu’s appointees, while 83 CCC members boycotted, viewing the gathering as a partisan initiative to bolster Mnangagwa’s political agenda.
