Dynamos avoid FIFA transfer ban

Dynamos have avoided a FIFA transfer ban after clearing outstanding salaries owed to former players, Ghanaians Emmanuel Paga and Frederick Ansah-Botchway.

The Glamour Boys owed Paga US$8,500 and Ansah-Botchway US$10,000.

The Harare giants received a 45-day ultimatum from FIFA in May to settle the outstanding dues or face a ban on all transfer activity.

In an interview with NewsDay, Dynamos’ executive member in charge of marketing, David Chikomo, confirmed that the club has successfully cleared all outstanding payments.

“It’s true that we have paid our dues to our former players Emmanuel Paga and Frederick Ansah-Botchway,” Chikomo said.

“It was an issue that was troubling us as a club, considering how much we want to improve our fortunes in the second half of the season.

“Now we can focus on participating in the transfer window and providing our technical team with what they need. We believe this is just the beginning of good things to come for the country’s biggest football brand.”

The development comes as a relief for the club after enduring a challenging first half of the season.

Dynamos are looking to reinforce their squad in this mid-season transfer window as they push to climb out of the relegation zone.

The Glamour Boys are currently in 17th place, having earned just 15 points in 17 games.
