ZIFA set up Commission of Inquiry to handle Sheasham case in Central Region Division One League

The Zimbabwe Football Association has appointed former Zimbabwe Volleyball Association president Ringisai Kudzanai Hillario Mapondera as chairperson of a Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the withdrawal of Sheasham FC from the Central Region Division One League.

According to a statement released by Zifa, the commission will probe the circumstances surrounding Sheasham’s withdrawal, determine whether the club exhausted internal remedies, and assess the Central Region Soccer League’s response to the complaints.

“This decision follows resolutions of the ZIA Executive Committee meeting held on 9 October 2025, acting upon recommendations from the ZIFA Legal and Player Status Committee convened on 8 October 2025. Acting under Article 55 of the ZIA Statutes, the Commission has been tasked to establish facts, assess procedural compliance, and recommend measures to strengthen fairness, integrity, and transparency within league management,” reads part of the statement by Zifa.

Also part of the committee includes Lupane State University’s Athletic Director Jabutani Mpofu, Zimbabwe Volleyball Association Vice President Marolet S. Mathema, and former referee Andrew Pamire.

The commission is expected to submit its report within seven working days.
