Dynamos coach Kelvin Kaindu has admitted that returning to Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday to face his former club was an emotional and challenging experience.
Kaindu, who was sacked as Highlanders head coach in June, joined Dynamos two months later and has since managed to inspire an impressive unbeaten run of eight matches.
His latest outing ended in a 1-1 draw against his former employers, and according to him, it was a bittersweet homecoming.
“It was a difficult return,” Kaindu said. “For the first time, I entered a different changing room, and I asked myself — so this is how it feels to be on the other side, wearing different colours.
“To be honest, it put me in a difficult situation because here at Barbourfields, there are many people I know.”
Dynamos salvaged a point through Jairos Kasondo’s equaliser after Brian Mlosthwa had given Highlanders the lead in the first half.
