Joel Luphahla opens up on Simba Bhora’s slump in crucial phase of the season

Simba Bhora coach Joel Luphahla has admitted that his team has hit a bad patch at the wrong time of the season.

The defending Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions surrendered their top spot after failing to win in their last five matches.

They were held to a goalless draw by Highlanders on Saturday — a result that saw them drop to third place on the table.

Speaking after the game, Luphahla conceded that there is little time left to recover, with only two matches remaining in the season.

“I’m very disappointed after dropping points at home,” he said. “I think we hit a bad patch at the wrong time of the season.

“We started slowly this season but we picked up and made people believe in us.

“In the end, it’s now difficult, and our play has changed — maybe because of pressure.”
