Scottland FC receive US$250,000 bonus after league triumph

Scottland FC have received a US$250,000 bonus from businessman Wicknell Chivayo following their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League triumph on Sunday.

Mabviravira secured the title after thumping Kwekwe United 5-1 to reach an unassailable 65 points, opening a seven-point lead with just two matches remaining.

Scottland’s triumph came in their debut top-flight season, making them only the second team to achieve the feat since Independence, after Black Rhinos’ success in 1985.

Chivayo announced the bonus on his social media platforms while congratulating club owner Scott Sakupwanya.

“In recognition of this massive, history-breaking achievement, and for your exemplary leadership and passion for the game of football, I invite the team captain and the team manager to come and see me personally on Saturday to collect US$250,000 as a small token of my appreciation and to share it with the entire team, the coach, and the technical staff. This is a well-deserved victory and an early Christmas gift to you.”
