Reiger Park drive-by mass shooting suspect to appear in court – SABC News

A suspect linked to the drive-by mass shooting over the weekend in Reiger Park, East of Johannesburg, is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old was apprehended on Monday following an investigation by the Anti-Gang Unit.

Six people were killed, including three women, and three others were left injured.

According to police reports, two suspects travelling in separate vehicles opened fire randomly before fleeing the scene.

Reiger Park has a long history of gang-related activity, often driven by territorial disputes, the drug trade, and acts of retaliation.

In the past, the area has witnessed clashes between rival gangs, including the Dogans and the Sour Boys.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the shooting is linked to gang violence. -Reporting by Musa Mhlongo
