Algeria have suffered another injury setback ahead of their international friendly against Zimbabwe on Thursday.
The Fennecs will be without defender Mohamed Amine Tougai, who has been ruled out due to injury.
According to a statement from the Algerian FA, the Espérance de Tunis defender has been released from the national team camp.
The statement read: “Central defender Mohamed Amine Tougai will not take part in the two friendly matches that the national team will play against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia on 13 and 18 November, due to injury.
“After being examined by the medical staff, it was determined that the player is not fit for the two matches. Following consultation with national coach Vladimir Petković, it was decided to release him from the training camp to avoid any possible aggravation of the injury and to allow him to continue his treatment with his club.”
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini will also miss the upcoming friendly against Zimbabwe.
The experienced defender is sidelined with lower back pain and will likewise be unavailable for Algeria’s second match against Saudi Arabia.
