The Zimbabwe Senior Women Football team (Mighty Warriors) go into camp at ZIFA Village today in preparation for the tri-nations cup set for Malawi later this month.
Initially, four nations where expected to take part before South Africa withdrew from the cup. Zimbabwe, Zambia and hosts Malawi will now compete for honours.
Mighty Warriors coach Sihethelelwe ‘Kwinji’ 15 Sibanda last week announced her 30 member squad, which will be trimmed to 23 before the team departs for Malawi.
“The Mighty Warriors have begun their training camp in Harare, where Head Coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda and her technical team are working with a 30-strong provisional squad. The squad will be trimmed to 23 players ahead of departure for Lilongwe,” reads part of the ZIFA statement.
