Updated list of qualified teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup


Thirty-two teams have so far qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Portugal and Norway become the latest European nations to book their spots after topping their qualifying groups. They join Croatia, England and France.

Norway is returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

Only 14 places are now up for grabs with eleven teams directly qualifying from Europe, while three will come from North America and the remaining two slots will be decided by playoffs.

AFC: Australia, IR Iran, Japan, Jordan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan
CAF: Algeria, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia
CONMEBOL: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay
OFC: New Zealand
UEFA: England, France, Croatia, Norway, Portugal.

Bolivia, New Caledonia, DRC (3 of 6 teams)

Qualification places
AFC: Eight direct spots + one Play-Off Tournament place
CAF: Nine direct spots + one Play-Off Tournament place
Concacaf: Six direct spots + two Play-Off Tournament places
CONMEBOL: Six direct spots + one Play-Off Tournament place
OFC: One direct spot + one Play-Off Tournament place
UEFA: 16 direct spots
