Zim players based abroad round-up


Tawanda Maswanhise scored a brace in Motherwell’s 3–1 victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Maswanhise netted both goals in the first half, opening the scoring in the 17th minute.

The Warriors international then fired home his second in the 26th minute.

The brace took his tally to seven goals in twelve league matches and eleven across all competitions.

Also on target was Prince Dube, who netted a 59th-minute strike in Yanga SC’s 1–0 win over Moroccan side AS FAR in the CAF Champions League Group B campaign.

Dube’s goal marked his first of the season in all competitions and became the crucial breakthrough in what had been a tightly balanced contest.

Elsewhere, Marshall Munetsi featured in Rob Edwards’ first match in charge — a 2–0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

He started the game and played 67 minutes as a wide midfielder.

Tawanda Chirewa was not included in the Wolves squad.

In the English Championship, Sean Fusire started in Sheffield Wednesday’s 3–0 loss against Sheffield United.

Fusire played 56 minutes before he was subbed off and received a yellow card in the 45th minute.

In League One, Marvelous Nakamba was not part of the Luton Town squad that lost 5–0 against Barnsley, while Brendan Galloway started for Plymouth Argyle in the 1–0 win against Port Vale.

In Belgium, Bill Antonio was an unused substitute during KV Mechelen’s 1–0 win over Genk.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Udinese full-back Jordan Zemura was a second-half substitute in their 3–0 Serie A win over Bologna on Saturday.
