Perezo Jr’s stunning strike hands Dynamos Chibuku Super Cup triumph

Dynamos clinched the Chibuku Super Cup for the third consecutive year after edging Triangle United in the final played on Saturday at Gibbo Stadium in Triangle.

Enasio Perezo Jr scored the decisive goal after coming on as a second-half substitute.

The match began under a cloud of controversy, with kickoff delayed by twenty minutes after Dynamos refused to play using Triangle’s match balls. Normalcy returned only after the Premier Soccer League intervened to resolve the dispute.

Around the half-hour mark, Dynamos suffered a setback when goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa sustained a shoulder injury and had to be rushed to hospital. He was replaced by Tatenda Makoni.

In the second half, Perezo produced a brilliant long-range strike that ultimately settled the contest.

The victory sealed Dynamos’ third successive Chibuku Super Cup title, earning them the right to represent Zimbabwe in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
