Manwa set to leave ZIFA

The Zimbabwe Football Association has confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Yvonne Manwa will leave her role when her contract expires this December.

Manwa, who joined ZIFA in November 2023 after being appointed by the Normalisation Committee, has overseen several key reforms at the association, most notably the development and adoption of a new ZIFA Constitution and the successful conduct of elections that ushered in the current Executive Committee.

“Having guided ZIFA through an extensive period of institutional renewal, Ms Manwa has elected to conclude her contract and pave the way for a successor who will build on this strong platform and lead Zimbabwean football into its next phase of growth. ZIFA expresses its sincere appreciation for her dedicated service, strategic insight, and substantial contribution to the rebuilding of our game,” said ZIFA in a statement.

The association also said Manwa will remain active in the sport in a consultancy capacity, focusing on women’s leadership and organisational development within the COSAFA region.

Meanwhile, ZIFA said they will begin the process of identifying and appointing Manwa’s successor soon.
