Scott Sakupwanya had potential to play for Liverpool or Chelsea: Brenna Msiska

Brenna Msiska has humorously claimed that Scottland FC owner Scott Sakupwanya could have played for Liverpool or Chelsea had he pursued a football career.

Msiska made the remarks on the sidelines of Scottland’s victory parade on Wednesday.

When asked whether Sakupwanya had genuinely played football at some point, Baba Gari, as Msiska is widely known, said:

“Sakupwanya was a good goalkeeper and, had he pursued the career, he could have played for Liverpool or Chelsea.

“But he had other plans, and what he is doing now is very respectable. Even though he didn’t follow a playing career, what he is doing now (owning a club) is highly commendable.”

Scottland held their victory parade across Harare as part of the celebrations for winning the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.

Mabviravira clinched the championship in their debut top-flight season, breaking a forty-year record.
