The Zimbabwe national football team has received USD 400,000 from President Emmerson Mnangagwa to support their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The funds were officially presented to the Warriors by the Minister of Sport, Anselem Sanyatwe, during the team’s send-off dinner on Monday evening.
Speaking at the event, the minister said:
“Let me proudly inform you that the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe injected a total of USD 400,000 from his office, and not the fiscus ,for the welfare of our Warriors during AFCON.”
Zimbabwe is drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, South Africa and Angola. The Warriors will kick off their campaign against Egypt on 22 December.
