The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will start on 21 December in Morocco, with Zimbabwe among the teams participating in the tournament.
This year’s edition will see CAF distributing a total of US$32 million in prize money.
Zimbabwe will receive $500,000, which is the base amount for any team participating in the tournament or finishing fourth in their group.
If they manage to secure third place in their group, the amount will increase to $700,000. Qualifying for the Round of 16 will earn them $800,000. This would mark a historic achievement, as the team has never advanced to the knockout stages.
Quarter-finalists will receive $1.3 million each, while semi-finalists will earn $2.5 million per team.
The winners of the competition will receive $7 million, while the losing finalists will take home $4 million.
