Reading FC coach Leam Richardson has confirmed the reason why Andy Rinomhota missed the League One game against Bradford over the weekend.
Rinomhota was not named in the matchday squad for the game, marking his first absence since joining the club as a free agent in November.
According to Richardson, as quoted by the SB Nation website, the Warriors international was feeling unwell and was therefore unavailable for selection.
However, the gaffer confirmed that the midfielder will be travelling with Zimbabwe for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations this week.
He said after the game against Bradford: “We want Andy on the pitch, he’s got a bit of illness and obviously going away, which is disappointing, but saying that he’ll come back fitter, fresher and stronger to go into the latter parts.”
Rinomhota is part of the Warriors squad for AFCON and is expected to join the rest of the team in Morocco on Tuesday.
