Ngezi Platinum Stars have been slapped with a three-window transfer ban after failing to settle former assistant coach Bongani Mafu’s outstanding US$196,750.

Mafu signed a four-year contract with Ngezi Platinum in March 2022 but was dismissed in July the same year, just four months into the deal.

The coach took the matter to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), with both rulings made in his favour.

Ngezi were given until last month to settle the amount, but failed to do so, resulting in the club being banned from registering new players.

The sanction will take effect from January, meaning the club will be unable to sign any new players during the three transfer windows.

Meanwhile, former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari also has a similar case against Ngezi Platinum, with the club was ordered to pay US$600,000 for unfair dismissal.
