Lootlove Luthando marks five years since brother’s passing with emotional tribute

Lootlove Luthando remembers late brother on his 25th birthday

Media personality Lootlove Luthando has once again opened her heart as she remembered her late brother, Luke, five years after his passing.

Taking to Instagram, the radio and TV star shared a series of throwback photos of her brother alongside a deeply personal message reflecting on grief, loss and the quiet moments where his absence still feels overwhelming.

Lootlove revealed that although time has passed, the pain of losing her brother has not grown easier, if anything, this year felt heavier than most.

In her post, Lootlove questioned whether it would ever feel normal to imagine the life her brother might have lived, the man he could have become, or even the simple family moments that were taken away too soon.

“Will it ever be normal to not be able to imagine who you would be now? What you’d be? Where in the world you’d live?” she wrote.

She also touched on the small, everyday reminders that continue to reopen the wound; from family jokes to phone calls that once began with, “Your mom is calling.”

According to Lootlove, this year she found herself seeing pieces of her brother in strangers she passed by, whether in the way they walked, spoke, or carried themselves.

“This year, in particular, was a little harder,” she shared, explaining how fleeting encounters with young men stirred memories of Luke and reignited questions she still carries about his views on life, music and even her parenting rules.

Lootlove went on to express empathy for her mother, acknowledging the depth of pain a parent carries after losing a child.

She described the family’s attempt to live each day with faith and acceptance, even as moments of remembrance, from butterflies to familiar scents; sometimes make the loss feel fresh again.

Marking what would have been her brother’s 25th birthday, Lootlove closed her tribute with a prayer-filled message, asking for strength, comfort and peace for her family.

“May the heavens sing a beautiful melody. May the earth accept our tears. May God carry our hearts for today and make them as light as a feather,” she wrote.
